Casselman Sign Bylaw

The Sign Bylaw 2017-076 regulates the design, construction, installation, maintenance and relocation of exterior signs in the Municipality of Casselman.

Key points

  • People wishing to erect, relocate or modify a sign, as defined in the bylaw, must first apply and obtain a Sign Permit.
  • This bylaw does not apply to interior signs.
  • Different permissions and restrictions such as the type of sign, size and lighting apply in different zones of the Municipality.
  • The bylaw applies to the following types of signs and installations:
    • Permanent and temporary signs
    • Awnings, billboards and canopies
    • Community service signs and event banners
    • Election, real estate and subdivision signs
    • Freestanding, ground, pylon, roof, pole and swinging installations
    • Illuminated or inflatable signs
    • Murals, plaques, window, wall or fascia signs
    • Directional and handicapped signs

Fines

A person found guilty of an offense to the bylaw is liable to a fine as provided for in the Municipal Act.
